Wow, I finally reached the city and am walking along some street.
It's amazing here!
I couldn't imagine how huge these buildings would be for real until I saw them.
I've already seen them from far away, but now that I'm standing directly in front of them, they seem much larger.
Most of these buildings are connected by bridges.
And there are even more streets below and above the street I'm currently walking on. This is really confusing.
A lot of people are walking around. I probably see more people at once on this street than I've seen in my whole life before.
And I know every person from my village.
The people seem pretty weird to me, though.
They all look totally different. Despite their huge number, there even are less people who look similar than in my village.
They wear weird clothes, some even have no clothes at all.
They have colorful hair, some colors seem pretty unnatural.
They have fancy hairstyles, I've never seen before.
Some of them don't even look like humans anymore.
And many of them probably aren't humans.
I've heard about other human races, but I've never seen some.
Around one in five of the people here is not a normal human. Some have feathers and beaks, some look pretty shiny and don't have a proper neck, and some are huge and have greenish skin with spikes.
But there's no time to care about that.
First I have to get used to this place and find my way around.
I want to go to the education center. They have an introduction event this afternoon.
It will only start in a few hours, but I want to be there in time in case something goes wrong.
After walking around for half an hour, I have still no idea where to go.
Asking people also didn't help me.
Most of them didn't know themselves, and if they could explain it to me, it didn't seem right.
But one of them pointed me at the screens.
And actually there are screens all around the city.
I don't know, what they are about, but maybe I should really look at them.
I go to one of the screens and touch it.
And a lot of stuff appears on the screen.
As I try to make sense of it, I notice a button which looks like a map, so I press it.
And then some city map appears. It even shows my current position.
I look around to check, which streets on the map correlate to which streets in reality.
I probably keep standing there for another half hour, but in the end it shows me a route to the education center.
I'm pretty good at remembering such stuff, but just in case, I take out a paper and redraw the route and the important parts of the map.
I also add some important info like street numbers from the map into my drawing.
As I'm walking through the streets, I just try to focus to get on my goal, and ignore all of the new impressions, especially the weird people there.
Looking at my sketch of the map really helps me to focus.
After walking for what feels like hours, I finally reach the education center.
The building is massive. It's not as high as most other buildings. It seems more like a huge wall.
The entry is just a few meters away. It's just a simple door without any decoration, but it's immediately recognizable as the main entry.
I'm a little nervous when I enter the building.
Inside I first walk through a small corridor. It feels like I'm at the wrong place. I'm the only person here.
But soon I reach some huge hall.
Now the education center is a hub of activity.
People are rushing about, walking toward their classes and engaging in lively discussions.
Somewhere in the middle of this hall there's an info board, which also shows a sign toward the introduction event, which I follow.
So I walk through the hallways, following more of these signs and soon reach the room where the introduction event will be held.
As I enter the room, I'm really nervous.
But it seems almost nobody is around yet.
Only a few girls are siting there, talking.
I'm really a little early.
But I'm glad about that.
I could go outside for almost an hour, but I won't risk anything. I'll just stay and wait.
The girls actually look pretty normal. One of them even looks very beautiful. So I think about joining them.
But then I decide to sit down on some empty place on my own and just relax.
Being in a new place is enough excitement at once.
Frieda is visiting the city to learn in the education center.
It's her first visit, so she's completely overwhelmed.
As she tries to navigate through the crowded streets, she struggles to find the way to her goal.
She needs to attend an intro introductory event in time.
